Without forgetting a more accomplished modularity thanks to a sliding bench seat which makes it possible to favor either the rear seats or the trunk, the volume of which can reach up to 536 liters (1,275, 40/60 folded backrests), significantly more than the Juke (354 and 1,114 liters), which loses here 68 liters due to the installation of the batteries under the floor. The rear seats are also more welcoming with a real feeling of spacereinforced by more generous glazed surfaces, which is confirmed meter in hands, in particular in space with the legs. Ideally placed, the huge multimedia touch screen is more user-friendly than that of the Juke. Its interior is also more opulent with very well-crafted materials and seats, like armchairs, with longer and more welcoming seats.

More varied than that of the Juke, its body colors can be embellished with a contrasting roof, optional on all versions. Less playful but very elegant, with its more elaborate bodywork, the Captur is more serious, more “real” car.

Almost as sober as a diesel! Finally, on the staffing side, this Juke, in this second highest Tekna trim level, is full of safety equipment with, in particular, semi-autonomous driving and blind spot alert as standard, which remain optional on the Captur, it is true less high-end in this Techno finish. Which can drop below 5 liters, or even 4.5 liters, light foot. While content with a real average consumption of 5.8 liters per 100 km, strictly identical to that of the Captur. On the road, it shows a neutral behavior, we are no longer reassuring, well helped, on our test model, by an ultra-sticky tire mount, generally reserved for sports models (GoodYear Eagle F1)! With a cumulative power, announced at 143 hp (compared to 145 for the Captur…), a torque of 148 Nm (+ 205 in electric) and a weight of 126 kg less than that of its competitor, this Juke provides fairly invigorating performance, without even having to resort to sport mode. Particularly pleasant in town where, like its cousin, it takes off in full electric mode in a very energetic way, this Juke offers good maneuverability combining soft steering and an even shorter turning circle than that of the Captur (10.1 meters, against 11.1). Same observation for regenerative braking, softer and progressive than that of the Renault, subject to some unpleasant variations in intensity. Stemming from Renault’s experience in Formula 1, their highly accomplished technology, unique in the segment, uses a dog clutch box offering around fifteen virtual gears. The driving of this Juke Hybrid reveals a great smoothness, reinforced by a management of its kinematic chain more fluid than that of the Captur which sometimes deplores some jerks or hesitations. As on the Renault, the central armrest offers a small touch of additional comfort. You feel very well seated behind the wheel with a dominant driving position, just right, offering good visibility, and more enveloping backrests than those of the Captur, ensuring better lateral support.

The rounded shapes of its dashboard, underlined by elegant topstitching, are quite playful with its five circular air vents and its large, very vintage gear lever. Although here totally black (the white-black and orange-black trims, like the contrasting pavilion, being reserved for the high N-Design finish), the interior is warm. What, by adding a now streamlined rear axle, save two small grams of CO2. Only the finest specialists will detect, on this new hybrid version, a grille with a tighter mesh, equipped with a shutter allowing to vary the flow of air, a lower bumper and redesigned wheel deflectors and, at the rear, a new spoiler. With its air of a jovial little batrachian, perched on the large 19” rims of our Tekna finish, the Juke has everything to seduce lovers of urban crossovers, including many women.
